Power of Music

After I came back from Amazon, I met a wonderful music.

Claire & Kaori (Mirai Kikaku Ltd.)

I hate rush hour in Tokyo. Very few people enjoy that.

I feel like my personality changes in a packed train. After the population cencentration and time length go to some extent, which is beyond of my patience capacity, I become like a porcupine...I feel irritated and try to protect from everything around me.

I had miraculous experiences.

I was tired. I listened to… Continue

"We are born for joy and happiness!" Indios, Amazon Indigenous

After working hard on environmental activities, I was exhausted. I jumped into Amazon jungle to experience sustainable society by myself. I have met a Tucano Indio who was born and raised deep in Amazon near Columbia in Brazil. I have lived in his village and had an overwhemling experience. I could not express by words. Everything existed in nature already. Big laughters, lots of smiles flowing out form happy bodies and caring eyes of Indio. Being embraced in wilderness of Amazon, I was deeply… Continue

When Disasters Happen to Good People

It would have been a perfect night out had it not been for the mishaps I ran into every step of the way.

I was supposed to get a drink with my buddies when the downpour came and I they had to cancel. Instead of going home, I figured there were lonely girls at the bar next door. It was the perfect opportunity for me to practice my moves on how to flirt with a girl. But it was not mean to be.

The speeding cab soaked me and got my financial reports wet. I bumped into an old… Continue

Green Business in Hawaii- Kuleana Conference Hits One Out of the Park

I may be a bit biased, since I was the Mistress of Ceremonies for the day, but I must say that the Kuleana Green Business Conference on the Big Island of Hawaii was great. Keynote speaker Joel Makower (pictured at left), author of… Continue

Our Green Maui: Tourism is Down, is That a BAD Thing?

Hawaii tourism is down, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Yes, Hawaii’s islands need visitors to maintain our workforce at full capacity, but this bear market has given us an opportunity to transform the old economy into a green economy. This break from tourists can greatly improve the ecology of the state, if used the right way.

The Maui News thinks the “visitor industry is fast train going wrong way.” While MSNBC reported Hawaii tourism is down 17% from last year this time.… Continue

Living by principles

Well, we got beat by the big money campaign, but we stayed true to our principles by not taking special interest money and still came in second (out of 11).

Time to move on and find that next great opportunity to make a difference. No end to good causes.

Running for office is a very humbling experience. Lots of folks came out to signwave and help out. It was a true grassroots campaign. We'll just have to find other ways to fight the good fight on issues that matter. But… Continue
