1:30 – 4:30 p.m.
The Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force, established by President Obama, is pleased to invite you and members of your organization to participate in an important Obama Administration initiative. The Task Force is asking for your help in developing a national policy to protect, maintain, and restore our oceans, coasts, and Great Lakes.
A public meeting will be held in Honolulu at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center on Tuesday, September 29, from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m., in the Pikake Room.
Members of the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force will be there to gather input from interested communities, local government, businesses, associations, non-government organizations, and the general public on ocean issues relevant to Hawaii and the Pacific Region.
Subject matter experts will open the session with 5-minute summaries on a range of issues including sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, climate change, hazards resilience, water quality, marine debris, indigenous perspectives, and conservation of living marine resources, to mention a few.
Individuals who are interested in providing comments will be asked to sign in and register. Speakers will be limited to 3 minutes in order to accommodate as many as possible.
